Find Your Moses

In Exodus 17: 1-7, the Israelites pleaded with Moses for water from the lord. Moses decided to pray to God for assistance in their time of need. God told Moses to go ahead of the people and that he would be standing upon the rock and Moses was to strike the rock with his staff.  This would give the people water. Moses did as the lord told him to and in the end the Israelites drank.

Believe it or not, we all have Moses in our life. Someone who provides help when we need it the most. When I was writing my reflection, my first thoughts of who my Moses is were my parents, teachers, coaches, and students, but as I started to dig deeper I realized that my Moses is not just my family or a human in general, but its music. Yes, music is my Moses.

From my “Sad Songs playlist” to my “Songs to Rage to” playlist to my “Vibes” Playlist music is always there for me. For example, if I'm having a bad day my happy playlist with songs like Nonsense by Sabrina Carpenter or Gorgeous by Taylor Swift is most likely to put a smile on my face. Or if I’m studying for a huge math or global studies test I listen to my chill playlists with songs like Thought You Should Know by Morgan Wallen or Satellite by Harry Styles. Even if I'm having the best day ever - music helps to make it even better. Music is my Moses because if I'm having a bad day it provides me with the help I need.  But if I'm having a good day music makes it that much greater.

Go out today and find your Moses.
